Tee Ball

Tee Ball season is in full swing in the Vogel house. We have been going to games twice a week and some weekends. I feel like I'm constantly washing uniforms. Since the kids are so young, they don't keep score, so we tell the boys that they won every time. Here is Gabe at bat. He loves it and is very good at it. He can always be found in his "ready stance" with his knees bent and his hands on his knees, eyes peeled and ready to catch the ball no matter what position he's in. In fact he will leave his position most of the time to get the ball in his hands. It's been fun to watch him this year.

Here is Judah up to bat. He is so funny to watch. He is like Eyor from Winnie the Pooh playing baseball. He could care less about being out there. He walks slow on and off of the field and his hat or glove is in front of his face most of the time. Even though he asks every game if he can stay home, I have to give him an "E" for effort because he never throws a fit when we till him he has to finish what he started.

In this picture, Aaron got a bunch of people (mostly youth) to go to a game. It was a blast! I couldn't believe the turn out. They cheered, clapped, and coached the boys every chance they could. I felt so privileged to have so many people in our lives who support us as a family.

A Real Pirate

Isaiah's little three year old dreams have finally come true. He is a real Pirate - or so he thinks he is. That's what I had to tell him in order to get him to wear this patch over his eye. No, he did not hurt himself, although I wouldn't be surprised if that ever did happen to him. It's an eye patch, much like a large bandaid. You see, my kids inherited the weirdest things from me - my pokey right ear, the big space in between my big and second toe, and now my lazy eye. When I was Isaiah's age, I had to have surgery to correct the muscles in my eyes. Isaiah's eye doctor told us that he would either have to have eye surgery or a patch. Since wearing glasses, his eye has improved greatly, but not quite enough. So now to Isaiah's delight, he gets to wear "The Patch!!" Unfortunately I'm sure the excitement of it will wear off in a couple of days. Good thing he loves candy and ice cream!

Tooth Fairy Alert

Gabe finally lost his top tooth! He's been working on it for a week,
wiggling and jiggling it every chance he got. I just love that 6 year
old jack-o-lantern face!

Girls Day Out

Today Mazie and I got our first pedicure together. Of course she
didn't get her nails done, but she kept me company while they did
mine. I had a little money left on a gift card from H2O for my
birthday and it was fabulous!

Story Land

Yesterday was our first official summer playgroup with MOPS (Mothers
of Preschoolers) at Story Land in City Park. The boys sported their
newly shaven "low maintenence" summer haircuts which I absolutely
love. We all had a great time with our own friends meaning I got to
talk to my mom friends while the boys ran around with other kids. Most
of the kids there were boys, so at some point one of them had the
bright idea to jump in the water. Needless to say, by the time we
left, they were all soaked.

And here is what Mazie did most of the time accept when she was ready
to eat.
